| St. Joseph High School 2009-2010 ANNUAL FUND CAMPAIGN The 2009-2010 Annual Fund Campaign – "Making It Happen For All Our Students – Thanks To Your Support!" celebrates the myriad of opportunities available to students at St. Joe’s to ensure that the highly respected mission and charism of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in providing quality Catholic education is sustained. The Brothers accept boys into the freshman class at St. Joseph High School, and four years later graduate young men in the St. Joe’s tradition, prepared to succeed in furthering their educations and ready to take their place as productive, responsible and giving members of our society. Along the way, the faculty and staff, our alumni and, of course, our current parents all play an important part in “making it happen”. Annual Fund support is critical – it would require a $4 million operating endowment to replace gifts to the Annual Fund. Participation is key – participation by just 15% of our alumni would advance the Annual Fund to over $300,000. This affirmation of the value of a St. Joe’s education would, in turn, enhance foundation and corporate support. Tuition alone does not cover the costs of operating the school – a successful Annual Fund is necessary to maintain a high level of academic and institutional excellence. The Annual Fund has two distinct segments: The Direct Mail and Phon-A-Thon campaign, which formally begins on September 15, 2009 with the mailing of more than 7,000 invitations to participate. It runs through June 30, 2010, and has a goal of $225,000. The Brother Bernardine, SC Memorial Golf Classic, which strives to net $60,000. The Annual Fund supplements the Operating Budget, helping to keep tuition affordable for our St. Joseph families. This year, the Annual Fund will provide funding for financial aid for students in need, academic scholarships, technology upgrades, student activities/programs that enhance campus life, the exciting new robotics team, and improvements to the theatre/drama productions program. Volunteers are needed for the Spring, 2010 Phon-A-Thons Dates for the spring Phon-A-Thons are the evenings of Tuesday, March 9th and Wednesday, March 10th. Phon-A-Thons begin at 6:30 pm with a short training session, and calls are made to alumni, alumni and current parents, and friends until 8:45 pm. Refreshments and a light supper are served.
